The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

  • The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a series of Canadian immigration programs operated by provincial governments. PNPs are established to meet the economic development and labor market needs of each province.
  • PNPs usually have two main programs: the Skilled Worker Program (Worker) and the Business and Investor Program. In addition, some PNPs are also linked to IRCC's Express Entry system.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

  • The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the flagship immigration programs of the Government of Canada. It provides one of the most valuable pathways to Canadian permanent residence.
  • The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and who wish to settle permanently in their province.
  • Each Canadian province and territory (except Nunavut and Quebec) has its own provincial nominee program. Each PNP has at least one immigration stream that uses the federal Express Entry selection system.
  • Provincial nominations issued to apply for the Express Entry program, also known as “enhanced nominations,” will award Express Entry candidates an additional 600 CRS points.
